How Do Users Re-Notify Facility Owner/Operator Members?

This article explains how users can re‑notify specific facility owner/operator members when performing secondary functions—such as EXRN (Excavator Renotification) or RLRF (Relocate/ Refresh)—on an existing ticket.

When Re‑Notification Is Allowed

Any user completing an EXRN or RLRF on an existing ticket can trigger re‑notification to selected members.

Re‑notification can be targeted based on:

  • Utility type (e.g., gas, electric, telecom)

  • Company name (specific facility owner/operator)

How Re‑Notification Works

Re‑notification is controlled through suppressing and unsuppressing members on the ticket.

  • Suppressing a member removes them from the notification list.

  • Unsuppressing a member adds them back to the notification list.

  • Adjusting these settings allows users to re‑notify only the intended facility owner/operator members.

A detailed guide on how a user can suppress and unsuppress members is available here: https://knowledge.co811.org/colorado811/how-do-i-accurately-re-notify-certain-facility-owner/operator-members-

After‑Hours Processing

If an EXRN or RLRF is submitted after business hours, the system automatically advances the locate‑by date to the next business day. This ensures facility owners/operators receive notifications within appropriate operational timelines.
