How can I learn more about API functionality and account requirements?
The Colorado 811 Exactix Ticketing System supports a select set of integrations, primarily through a JSON-based API. In Phase 1 of the rollout, the focus will be on positive response with attachments via API.
If you’re interested in exploring integration options with your software, we recommend attending our IT Office Hours: Transition to the CO811 Ticketing System sessions, where we’ll cover API functionality questions in more detail. Additional documentation and information will also be shared in the near future as it becomes available and is released. The features to be released may not match other states using Exactix and are still being considered. We will do our best to meet the needs of Colorado damage prevention stakeholders of course.
When utilizing the JSON-based API to post responses with attachments and are passing a list of URL’s to the attachments, please ensure that each URL is publicly accessible and does not require authentication. If URLs sent in the JSON API require authentication they will result in error. If making the URL publicly accessible is not possible, please use the AddAttachments API to upload the binary file directly. Tidbit. URLs that are passed using the API will be downloaded by CO811 and uploaded to the ticket therefore the URL’s need to be publicly accessible and not require authentication. Note that Attachments can also be provided using the SaveResponseWithAttachments endpoint API which allows uploading the binary files directly as part of the request.
