What are the requirements for supporting documentation and automatic Positive Response Renotifications starting January 29, 2026?
Starting on the evening of January 29, 2026, Colorado 811 will require Facility Owner/Operator Members to upload supporting documentation like photos, maps, or sketches as part of their Positive Response. If a response is not posted, incomplete, or supporting documentation is not provided by the due date, the system will automatically send Positive Response Renotifications daily for up to 30 days, or until a positive response code and required documentation is uploaded—whichever comes first. Please note, a Positive Response will not be complete unless a file attachment is submitted.
- Renotifications are sent if there's no attachment, except for responses:
- 002-Clear No Conflict
- 013-No Conflict (Privately Owned Utility—contact owner for locate)
- 025-Locate Not Yet Started
- Renotifications are also sent if there's no attachment, except for these ticket types:
- Damage
- Emergency (no renotifications due to no response or attachment)
- Cancel
- Supporting documentation (file attachment) is required for most Positive Response submissions.
- Daily renotifications will be sent if supporting documentation is missing, except in the following situations:

- 025 – Locate Not Completed without Excavator Agreement
