Positive Response Re-Notifications Information
Information about Positive Response Re-Notifications (also known as Late tickets) for facility owner/operator members
Facility Owner/Operator members are required by law to post a positive response code and upload supporting documentation, such as photos, sketches, and/or maps, to locate request tickets by the Locate By Date shown on the ticket. A response is only considered complete and on time when both the response code and the required supporting documentation have been provided.
If a member has not posted a response by the Locate By Date, or has posted a response without the required supporting documentation, Colorado 811 is required by law to automatically send a re-notification of the ticket. These re-notifications are called Positive Response Re-Notifications, also known as Late tickets.
All tickets, except cancelled tickets, require a complete response from Facility Owner/Operator members. Supporting documentation is required for all response codes except the two “no conflict” positive responses:
- 002 – Clear No Conflict
- 013 – No Conflict, Privately Owned Utility on Property – Contact Private Utility Owner for Locate.
Providing supporting documentation with responses has been required under the Colorado Excavation Requirements law since 2021.
Positive Response Re-Notifications, or Late tickets, are sent automatically each business day at a billable rate for up to 30 days, or until the missing response code is posted and/or the missing supporting documentation is uploaded to the ticket, whichever comes first. These tickets will include the word “LATE” in the ticket header and are delivered around midnight with your End of Day Audit.
Colorado 811 members can access Exactix to post the required positive response and upload attachments in either of the following ways:
- click the Post a Response link at the bottom of the emailed ticket
- log in directly to Exactix at https://exactix.colorado811.org.
Both options require an Exactix username and password. If you are not already registered in Exactix, please contact the Colorado 811 Member Relations Department at 1-877-583-2909 or member-services@co811.org for assistance.
After receiving a ticket, review it fully to determine whether your assets will conflict with the excavation area described. If there is a conflict, mark your underground facilities using the appropriate color for the facility type by the Locate By Date listed on the ticket. After marking the facilities, Facility Owner/Operator members must respond through Colorado 811 Positive Response to notify the excavator that the ticket has been completed and supporting documentation, such as photos, maps, or sketches, has been provided. If none of your underground facilities will be in conflict with the excavation area, please use response code 002 – Clear No Conflict.
