Will Locator Logix be replaced or affected by Colorado 811’s transition to the new Exactix ticketing system?

Locator Logix is not being replaced. With the launch of Exactix, Colorado 811 will transition to Exactix as the new ticketing system for creating and processing locate requests, replacing our legacy ticket entry platform. However, if your organization currently uses Norfield’s Locator Logix for ticket management, you may continue to do so without disruption.

Colorado 811 is actively coordinating with the Locator Logix team and our IT Department to ensure your existing integrations and workflows remain fully supported and uninterrupted throughout this transition.

Colorado 811 utilizes Norfield as our primary ticketing system to process locate tickets, deliver notifications to utility members, and provide access for posting positive responses to tickets. Norfield also offers a ticket management system called Locator Logix, which is not managed or supported by Colorado 811.

Colorado 811 transitioning to a new ticketing system, Exactix, involves changing our core software system and does not affect Locator Logix in any way. If you are paying for the Locator Logix software from Norfield, you can continue doing so as usual. The switch to Exactix is entirely separate from the Locator Logix software.

Locator LOGiX and other Ticket Management Systems currently receive tickets from Colorado 811 via email in one of the following four formats:

  • Text
  • HTML
  • XML
  • XML Attachment

These same formats will continue to be used for delivering locate tickets once the Colorado 811 Exactix Ticketing System launches. This means your existing parsing logic for ticket deliveries from Colorado 811 should remain fully functional.
