If a locator marks utilities for more than one customer (such as gas and electric) on the same ticket and dig area (polygon), do they need to attach image files for each individual customer, or can they upload the images just once since it is the same location?

Attachments must be uploaded for each positive response in accordance with Colorado statute. Exceptions include cases involving damages, emergencies, or cancellations.

Irth System Behavior
According to Irth, attachments can be submitted for each positive response per customer. A checksum is computed for every file. If the same file is uploaded for the same ticket, the system will not store a duplicate copy. Instead, it creates a record linking the service area’s response attachment to the existing file. This ensures that each service area’s upload is tracked while storing the file only once.

Duplicate File Warning
If the same file is uploaded for the same ticket and the same service area, the system issues a warning to the user in the web interface. A similar warning is sent the API user and captured in the Irth logs for file attachments.
