Exactix v4.1.42 Release – Key Changes & Q&A

What is changing?

Exactix version 4.1.42 includes updates to the Ticket Entry Form, Damage Ticket processing, ticket access, and user messaging. These changes are intended to make ticket submission and ticket status information clearer and easier to use.

Why this change?

The updates improve clarity during ticket entry, provide better search functionality, and create a more consistent experience when receiving ticket status information.

Key Functional Changes

1. Updated Ticket Entry Form Question

The work start date question has been updated to:

"When do you expect to begin and end digging?"

This wording better reflects the information needed when submitting a locate request.

2. Improved Company, Office, and Contact Search

The Ticket Entry Form autocomplete search now looks for matches within words instead of only at the beginning of a word. This makes it easier to find existing companies, offices, and contacts.

For example, users can search for a term contained within a company name rather than needing to know the exact beginning of the name.

3. Updated Web Pop-Up Messages

Two web pop-up messages have been updated:

The message shown when saving an incomplete ticket.

The message shown when reporting that the blue shaded area is incorrect.

These updates provide clearer guidance on appropriate next steps.

4. Positive Response Confirmation Emails for Damage Tickets

The Response Due Date for Damage Tickets will now align with the Locate By Date. This change supports Positive Response Status Email Confirmations for Damage Tickets and creates more consistent timing for ticket processing.

5. Enhanced View Ticket Access

Authorized logged-in users may be automatically routed to the full ticket details page when opening a View Ticket link. Unauthorized or anonymous users will continue to see the limited public view.

Questions & Answers

Q: Why was the work start question changed?

The new wording helps clarify that the requested information includes both the anticipated start and end of excavation work.

Q: What is changing with company and contact searches?

Q: Will ticket-saving messages look different?

Q: What is changing for Damage Tickets?

Response timing will now align with the Locate By Date, allowing more consistent handling of Damage Ticket responses and status notifications.

  • Full address ranges must never be entered within the street field; submit a separate ticket for the specific address for each structure to help avoid delays in response to the request.
  • For address tickets, submit one ticket per structure.
  • A separate ticket is required for each individual structure, such as a single-address home or mobile home.
  • Multi-unit properties—such as townhomes, paired homes, duplex-style structures, or apartment buildings—may be processed as one ticket when the work area applies to one shared structure.
  • Submitting one ticket per structure helps keep the request clear, accurate, and easier for Service Areas to review.
